Two Killed, Two Injured in Tragic Three-Vehicle Crash Near Minden, Louisiana
MINDEN, LA – A Heartbreaking Three-Vehicle Collision Claims Two Lives and Injures Two in Webster Parish
MINDEN, Louisiana — A devastating late-night crash on Friday, August 1, 2025, has left two families shattered and communities in mourning after a three-vehicle collision in Webster Parish claimed the lives of two men and left two others hospitalized. The tragic incident occurred just after 11:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 80, a few miles east of Minden near the intersection of Middle Road.
According to the Louisiana State Police, the crash involved a pickup truck, a sedan, and an SUV. Preliminary reports indicate that the pickup truck, driven by 50-year-old Brian Frost of Haughton, was traveling westbound on U.S. 80 when, for reasons still under investigation, it crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic. It collided head-on with an eastbound sedan driven by 45-year-old Kendrick Fisher, also of Haughton. A third vehicle, the SUV, was unable to stop in time and became involved in the crash, resulting in additional injuries to its occupants.
Emergency responders from the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police Troop G, and Minden Fire Department rushed to the scene. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, both Frost and Fisher were pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of their injuries. The two individuals in the SUV, whose names have not yet been released, sustained moderate to serious injuries and were transported to a Shreveport-area hospital for further treatment.
State Police noted that seat belt use is still being investigated, as well as potential contributing factors such as speed or impairment. Toxicology samples were collected and are pending analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
A Wave of Grief Through Tight-Knit Communities
The news of the tragedy has sent ripples of sorrow through the neighboring towns of Haughton and Minden. Both Brian Frost and Kendrick Fisher were well-known and well-liked members of the Haughton community. Frost, a longtime truck mechanic and father of three, was described by friends as a hardworking man with a big heart and an unmatched love for his family. Fisher, a high school basketball coach and volunteer youth mentor, was remembered for his dedication to helping local kids succeed on and off the court.
Local residents gathered over the weekend at candlelight vigils held at Haughton High School and a community park near Brian Frost’s home. Neighbors, colleagues, and friends shared tearful memories and expressed disbelief over the sudden and senseless loss.
“Brian was always the guy you could count on,” said longtime friend and co-worker David Henley. “He’d help you fix your car, mow your lawn, or just listen when you were having a bad day. Losing him like this is just devastating.”
Similarly, former students of Kendrick Fisher flooded social media with messages of gratitude and heartbreak. “Coach Fisher believed in me when no one else did,” wrote one student. “He changed my life. I can’t believe he’s gone.”
Calls for Caution and Change
In the aftermath of the tragedy, local officials and law enforcement are urging drivers to exercise caution, especially along rural highways like U.S. 80, which have seen a growing number of serious accidents in recent years. Discussions are already underway among community leaders about potential safety improvements, including increased lighting, road signage, and speed enforcement in high-risk areas.
“We are heartbroken for the families involved,” said Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker. “This crash is a painful reminder of how quickly life can change. We will do everything we can to investigate what happened and to work toward preventing more tragedies on our roads.”
A Community United in Grief
As investigations continue and the injured continue to recover, the communities of Haughton and Minden are united in their support for the families affected. Local churches have opened their doors for counseling and prayer services, and several fundraising efforts have been launched to assist with funeral costs and medical expenses.
In the words of Pastor Jerome Reed of First Baptist Haughton, who spoke at Saturday night’s vigil, “We may never understand why these things happen, but we find strength in each other. Brian and Kendrick will not be forgotten. Their lives touched many, and their legacies will live on in the hearts of this community.”
Funeral arrangements for both men are expected to be announced in the coming days. As Webster Parish grieves this heartbreaking loss, their loved ones are held close in thought and prayer by a community that refuses to let them grieve alone.
