His motorcycle collided with a large boulder located between mile markers 8 and 9 near the Icebox Canyon Trailhead. The force of the crash ejected him from the bike, and emergency responders pronounced him deceased at the scene
The accident shut down Scenic Loop Drive for nearly six hours as the LVMPD Traffic Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Nevada State Patrol, examined the scene
