It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Joseph Kincaid Byrd, Jr., 76, of Morganton, who tragically lost his life in a house fire on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Joseph, fondly known as “Joe” by his family and friends, was a man of great warmth, generosity, and character. Born and raised in Burke County, he built a life rooted in love, hard work, and a strong sense of community. His presence was a constant source of comfort, encouragement, and humor for those who knew him best.
Throughout his 76 years, Joseph touched countless lives through his kindness and willingness to help others.
