Manhunt Underway After 7 Elements Lounge Shooting; At Least Six Others Injured in Weekend Violence

A weekend marred by bloodshed has left residents and authorities on high alert after multiple acts of violence unfolded across the city, including a targeted shooting outside a popular nightlife spot and a string of other shootings and stabbings that injured at least six more people. Police say they are actively searching for two unidentified males believed to be responsible for a shooting outside the 7 Elements Lounge in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to investigators, the incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. outside the lounge, a well-known late-night venue located near a busy commercial strip. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk just steps from the club entrance. Emergency medical personnel rushed him to a nearby hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Surveillance footage from the area reportedly shows two unidentified men fleeing the scene moments after shots were fired. Detectives believe the shooting may have been the result of a personal altercation that escalated. However, they have not yet released any suspect descriptions and are urging the public to come forward with tips.

“There were a lot of people in the area at the time,” said a spokesperson for the city’s police department. “We believe someone may have seen something that can help us identify these individuals. Any detail, no matter how small, could be crucial.”

The chaos outside 7 Elements Lounge proved to be just the beginning of a violent weekend. Less than 24 hours later, on Sunday, authorities responded to a series of separate violent incidents across the city involving both firearms and knives. By the end of the day, at least six additional people had been hospitalized due to gunshot or stab wounds.

Among the Sunday incidents:

  • A man was shot during a confrontation in a parking lot on the city’s south side. Police say the victim was targeted but have not confirmed any arrests.

  • Two teenagers were injured in a double stabbing near a convenience store around noon. Their injuries were non-life-threatening, but the suspects fled before police arrived.

  • In another case, a woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during an altercation outside an apartment complex. Investigators believe she may not have been the intended target.

  • Two more individuals were injured in an altercation at a Sunday evening block party that escalated into gunfire. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with people running for cover and several cars fleeing the area.

Law enforcement officials say the weekend’s violence is part of a troubling trend of increased assaults during the summer months when outdoor activity and social gatherings are at their peak. They are ramping up patrols in hotspot areas and working with community organizations to defuse tensions before they erupt into violence.

City leaders are calling for calm and unity, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in solving crimes and preventing further incidents.

“This isn’t just a law enforcement issue — this is a community issue,” said City Councilmember Jordan Hayes. “We need people to speak up, to check in on one another, and to work together to stop this cycle of violence before more lives are lost.”

As investigations into all of the weekend’s incidents continue, police are asking anyone with information related to the 7 Elements Lounge shooting or the other assaults to contact the department or Crime Stoppers. Anonymous tips may also be submitted online.

The weekend’s events have left residents shaken and frustrated, with many demanding swift action and stronger intervention. For now, the city braces for what’s next — hoping this wave of violence is not a preview of the summer ahead.
