Approximately 30 minutes later, in southwest Houston, the same suspect reportedly shot and killed a mechanic during an altercation at a mechanic shop in the 13000 block of Fondren Road. The suspect then fatally shot a bystander who was recording the scene.

The suspect, driving a gray Ford Escape, was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his vehicle on Creekbend Drive around 2:00 p.m.

Among the victims was Hector Vasquez, a mechanic at the shop where the second shooting occurred. He was fatally shot during the altercation with the suspect. A bystander, who was recording the incident, was also killed. The identities of the other victims have not been released.
