Cleveland, MS – July 8, 2025
The Bayou Academy community is in shock after a fatal collision early Tuesday morning claimed the lives of two teenage students. Around 7:00 a.m., the students were involved in a crash on Yale Street with a Bolivar County Sheriff’s deputy, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol

A 2019 Dodge Ram driven by a 29-year-old deputy struck a 1986 Toyota truck carrying the two Bayou Academy boys.

Both teens—driver and passenger—were pronounced dead at the scene.
