Marie Hunt and Mark Henshaw Murder-Suicide: A Community in Shock

On Friday, August 8, 2025, the quiet town of Raynham, Massachusetts, was shaken by a tragic incident that has left the community in deep sorrow. Marie Hunt, 37, and Mark Henshaw, 35, were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide at their shared home on Elm Street West. The couple’s two young children were discovered unharmed inside the residence.

The Discovery

At approximately 12:05 p.m., Raynham police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at the Elm Street West address. Upon arrival, officers found no signs of forced entry into the home. Inside a locked second-floor bedroom, they discovered Hunt and Henshaw deceased. Henshaw had an apparent gunshot wound to the head, while Hunt had a gunshot wound to her abdomen. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at 12:39 p.m.

Family Impact

Hunt’s brother, Justin Firsch, spoke to the media, expressing his disbelief and grief over the loss. He revealed that Hunt was a mother to three children, two of whom were present in the home at the time of the incident. The children are now in the care of their father. Firsch also mentioned that Hunt had worked as a prison guard in Bridgewater for several years. He noted that he did not know Henshaw personally and was uncertain about the nature of their relationship.
