In Loving Memory of Lia Biondo — Beloved Daughter, Advocate, and Friend Gone Too Soon

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we share the devastating news of the passing of Lia Biondo — a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, and beloved friend whose sudden and unexpected departure has left an immeasurable void in the lives of all who had the joy and honor of knowing her.

Lia passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a heartbroken family and a grieving community. At just 24 years old, she had already made a meaningful impact on the world around her, inspiring those who knew her with her kindness, intelligence, authenticity, and deep sense of compassion.

A Life of Purpose, Passion, and Heart

Lia was born and raised in upstate New York, and from the very beginning, she was a beacon of light to her family. She possessed a radiant smile that could brighten any room, a laugh that was infectious, and a soul filled with empathy and love for others. Her innate kindness and emotional intelligence made her a natural confidante to many — the kind of person you turned to when you needed honesty, encouragement, or simply someone to listen.

A proud graduate of Siena College, Lia earned her degree in Political Science and Communication. She was fiercely passionate about civic engagement, policy advocacy, and using her voice for change. Her work reflected her values — she was deeply committed to creating a better, fairer world, particularly for those whose voices often go unheard.

Lia went on to work for various advocacy organizations, always aligning her career with her purpose. Her colleagues remember her as a rising star, a driven and articulate young woman who brought both warmth and insight to every room she entered.

A Deeply Loved Daughter, Sister, and Friend

Above all, Lia was fiercely devoted to her family. She was the eldest daughter — a protector and guide to her younger siblings, a best friend to her mother and father, and a source of joy to her grandparents. Her family describes her as “a light that guided us, a love that grounded us.”

To her friends, Lia was a steadfast presence — always showing up, always offering support, always reminding others of their worth. Whether it was a spontaneous road trip, a thoughtful note, or a simple coffee date during difficult times, she had a way of making people feel deeply seen and loved.

A Community Mourns and Celebrates a Life Beautifully Lived

In the wake of her passing, an outpouring of tributes has come from across the country — from professors, former coworkers, community leaders, and childhood friends. Each memory paints the picture of someone extraordinary — not only because of what she accomplished, but because of who she was.

A memorial vigil will be held on Wednesday, July 30, at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls, beginning at 6:00 p.m., where those who loved her will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and celebrate the life of a woman who gave so much of herself to others.

Funeral services will follow on Thursday, July 31, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. The Biondo family welcomes all who wish to attend and asks that anyone attending wear a touch of Lia’s favorite color — sky blue — in her memory.

A Legacy That Lives On

Though Lia Biondo’s physical presence is no longer with us, her legacy lives on — in the lives she touched, the change she inspired, and the love she left behind. She was a rare soul who combined gentle grace with fierce determination, a woman who never hesitated to speak truth to power or extend a hand to someone in need.

In her memory, the family has established the Lia Biondo Memorial Fund, which will support young women pursuing careers in advocacy, communication, and public service — fields where Lia truly shined.

“She was the kind of person who made you believe the world could be better — because she made it better just by being in it,” a friend shared.

Rest peacefully, dear Lia.
Your life was a gift.
Your spirit will never fade.
You are loved beyond words — and missed beyond measure. 💙🕊️
