On July 15, 2025, tragedy struck the Williamsbridge neighborhood in the Bronx when Aliyah Williams, a 16-year-old local teenager, was fatally stabbed during an altercation inside Deli Grocery on Boston Road, near Mickle Avenue. An argument erupted, reportedly after Aliyah threw water on another girl—identified as the alleged attacker—which quickly escalated into violence 

The 911 call came in just before 4 p.m., and emergency responders found Aliyah with multiple stab wounds to her face, chest, and torso. She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition, but tragically succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival 


The Arrest and Legal Response

Less than four hours later—by approximately 7:30 p.m.—a 17-year-old girl was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weaponAuthorities believe the argument stemmed from a minor dispute and are continuing their investigation.

The incident has shaken the normally quiet neighborhood. Local shopkeepers and residents expressed shock and fear. One nearby café worker recalled, “She was losing so much blood… I would say she probably died in my arms”

Aliyah’s grandmother, Rose Anderson, received a text from her granddaughter earlier that day asking for $10 for food—their last exchange. She described Aliyah as “a peaceful person” with good manners who “gave of her heart.” Neighbors echoed that sentiment, calling her respectful and well-behaved
