Megan Lowry of Mount Pleasant, SC Remembered for Her Kindness and Bright Spirit After Sudden Passing

It is with deep sorrow that we share the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Megan Elizabeth Lowry, a beloved daughter, friend, and community member of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Megan’s passing—unexpected and far too soon—has left her family and friends struggling to reconcile with a world suddenly dimmer without her warmth, laughter, and bright spirit.

🌸 A Life Lived with Heart

Megan was more than a name in the community—she was a presence. Bright-eyed and quick to smile, she brought light into every room. A graduate of Wando High School, she carried her Southern charm, genuine kindness, and fierce intellect into all she pursued, whether it was at Charleston Southern University—where she studied Healthcare Management—and beyond.

At work, she excelled in a role that matched her spirit: supporting others through care coordination. Megan believed in making a difference, in even the smallest interactions. She advocated with empathy, paid attention to every detail, and brought dignity to the lives of those she helped.

Cherished by Family and Friends

Megan was the pride and joy of her family—her loving parents, brother, and countless cousins. Family time was everything to her, whether it was Sunday dinners filled with laughter, coastal getaways soaking in ocean breezes, or playing games into the night. She was a daughter who made her family feel heard and cherished, and a sister whose love knew no bounds.

Her circle of friends described Megan as steadfast and true. She showed up when needed—offering a shoulder, organizing girl’s nights, or laughing over coffee until closing time. Her loyalty was legendary; once you were in her corner, you stayed there forever.

A Community Touched

In Mount Pleasant, Megan volunteered with local food drives, coached youth softball clinics, and lent support wherever she felt needed. She exemplified the kind of neighbor people strive to be, contributing not for recognition, but because she genuinely cared.

A Life Cut Short

Megan’s death—unexpected and sudden—has left her loved ones enveloped in grief. Words on a memorial token cannot ease the pain of those who relied on her strength and cheerful presence. But as they gather this week for a celebration of her life, they will recount cherished memories and see in each other the warmth she gave so freely.

Beyond family and close friends, her community mourns with them. In the coming days, local community groups are rallying to support the Lowry family—arranging meals, organizing a heartwarming candlelight vigil by the water, and establishing a memorial fund in Megan’s name to continue causes close to her heart.

Leaving a Legacy of Light

Megan’s time with us was brief, but her impact was profound. She showed us the power of kindness, the art of listening, and the importance of empathy. Though her physical presence is gone, her influence lives on—in the people she helped, the hearts she uplifted, and the laughter she shared.

Service & Memorial Information

A celebration of Megan’s life will take place on Saturday, July 12 at 2 p.m., at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, followed by a reception where memories and stories will be shared. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Megan Lowry Memorial Fund, supporting youth services and healthcare assistance efforts in the Charleston area.
