Triple Shooting in Glennville Leaves One Dead, Two Injured; Police Seek Answers in Sunday Morning Tragedy

GLENNVILLE, Ga. — A quiet Sunday morning in the small, tightly knit city of Glennville was shattered by sudden and senseless violence after a triple shooting left one man dead and two others wounded. The incident unfolded just after sunrise, in an otherwise peaceful neighborhood, shocking residents and drawing a heavy law enforcement presence to the area.

According to officials with the Glennville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene after multiple calls to 911 reported gunfire near a residential area. When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Alvin Lashawn Williams lying on the ground, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other male victims were also located nearby, both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were quickly transported to area hospitals for treatment. As of Monday morning, authorities reported that both victims were in stable condition, though one remains in critical care. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of their families.

Investigators are still working to determine what led to the violence, and no suspects have been named or taken into custody as of now. Officers spent much of the day canvassing the neighborhood, speaking with potential witnesses, and collecting forensic evidence from the scene. Shell casings were recovered, and detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses in hopes of identifying a suspect or suspects.

“This is a tragic and unacceptable act of violence,” said Glennville Police Chief Marcus Walker. “We want to assure the public that we are doing everything we can to get to the bottom of this. We urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. Your tip could make all the difference.”

The shooting has left many in the small town reeling. Glennville, a close-knit community where violent crime is rare, is now grappling with the aftermath of a crime that has deeply impacted not only the victims and their families but also the broader sense of safety within the city.

Neighbors described the early morning chaos — a stark contrast to the usual calm of a Sunday in Glennville. Several reported waking to the sound of gunfire and frantic shouting.

“We heard what sounded like fireworks, but when we looked outside and saw the police, we knew it was something much worse,” said a nearby resident. “It’s heartbreaking. Alvin was known by many around here. He had his struggles, like anyone, but no one deserves to die this way.”

Family and friends of Alvin Lashawn Williams have begun sharing tributes on social media, expressing grief over his untimely death and calling for justice. One post read, “Rest easy, Alvin. We love you and we’re going to make sure your name isn’t forgotten.”

As the investigation continues, the Glennville Police Department is asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local law enforcement or submit an anonymous tip through the regional crime hotline.

This tragedy has cast a somber shadow over the Glennville community, serving as a painful reminder of how quickly violence can erupt and how deeply it can scar. While questions remain, one thing is certain: the city mourns together, and its residents remain hopeful that justice will soon be served.
