Urgent Search Underway for Missing Legally Blind Man, Lovett Moore, Last Seen in Sacramento on July 3
Sacramento, CA – July 3, 2025 — The Sacramento Police Department has issued an urgent call for public assistance in locating 33-year-old Lovett Moore, who has been reported missing under circumstances that classify him as an at-risk individual. Moore, who is legally blind and requires specific medical care, was last seen during the early hours of Thursday, July 3, in the Midtown area of Sacramento. His disappearance has prompted widespread concern from authorities, loved ones, and the broader community.
According to Sacramento PD, Moore was last seen around 2:00 a.m. near 28th and J Street. At the time of his disappearance, he was reportedly walking alone and may have been disoriented. Moore’s family says he did not have his white mobility cane with him, which he typically uses to safely navigate his surroundings, increasing concerns for his well-being and safety.
Lovett Moore is described as an African American male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, navy blue sweatpants, and white sneakers. His family shared that he has no known history of voluntarily disappearing and that it is extremely unlike him to go missing without contacting someone.
“Lovett is a gentle, kind-hearted soul who lives a quiet life and relies heavily on his routine and the support of those around him,” said his older sister, Jasmine Moore, during an emotional plea to the public on Thursday afternoon. “We are devastated and just want to know that he is safe.”
Sacramento police officials confirmed that due to Lovett’s medical condition and visual impairment, the case meets the criteria for an “at-risk” missing person alert. Authorities are canvassing the area where he was last seen, reviewing surveillance footage, and interviewing possible witnesses who may have seen him early Thursday morning.
Local volunteers and community members have already organized search efforts in surrounding parks, transit centers, and homeless outreach points in hopes of spotting Moore. The city’s public transportation network has also been notified, and transit staff have been asked to remain vigilant.
Sacramento PD urges anyone who sees Lovett Moore or has information about his whereabouts to immediately contact dispatch at (916) 808-5471 or dial 911. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the department’s online portal.
In the meantime, the Moore family continues to hold on to hope.
“We’re praying constantly, trusting that someone, somewhere has seen Lovett,” said Jasmine Moore. “Please, if you know anything, say something. We just want our brother home.
